Welcome back to Laps of Luxury, a weekly series highlighting the prettiest pools in Dallas.
Today we’re heading north to Lucas, Texas, to explore what is arguably the coolest backyard in North Texas. 1010 Wendy Lane makes good use of its 18 acres of land; in addition to a pool, the property boasts a baseball field, basketball court, private pond, putting green, and more.
The home itself is bright, airy, and full of natural light. Its aesthetic leans toward traditional–wood floors, arched doorways, and dramatic chandeliers–but a light palette keeps things modern. Both interior and exterior were designed with sports fans in mind. The media room has a pool table and a memorabilia display case, there’s a petite home gym, and when a game is on, you can tune in from the private theater with surround sound.
Step outside and you’ll find outdoor lounges equipped with A/C, motorized solar shades, fireplaces, fire pits, heated floors, and more.
The private pond is spacious enough for kayaking, paddle boarding, and other water sports. The current homeowner notes that fishermen might hook a perch, bass, or catfish in the fully stocked waters.
Finally, we arrive at the pool; like everything else on the property, it can be controlled via smartphone. This 85,000-gallon behemoth has two hot tubs, several waterfalls, and a deep end that reaches ten feet. Its multi-level surface reflects the Texas sky overhead, while fire pillars bathe the water in a flickering glow as the sun sets.

Venture further and you’ll come across a baseball field with an adjustable mound, baselines, covered seating, and dugouts. There’s even a batting cage to get practice swings in. Prefer basketball? No problem–there’s a court for that, too. Golf? Enjoy a multi-holed putting green hidden among the trees.
