Laps of Luxury: A Lavish, Lagoon-Style Pool in Westlake

Welcome back to Laps of Luxury, a weekly summer series where we spotlight the most stunning pools in North Texas.

1401 Hawthorn Place sits behind the gates of Vaquero, an exclusive Westlake community. The 500-acre development is filled with spacious lots and has amenities galore, including a clubhouse, golf course, and spa.

It’s a traditional build, with a stone façade and mahogany details in nearly every room. The stately residence has a wine cellar, a home gym, and a media room. Its most notable features, however, are outside.

This outdoor oasis has a massive stretch of grass that could rival a public park. A tiny creek winds through the backyard and mature trees provide shade. There are multiple dining and lounging areas, including a cozy cabana, an outdoor kitchen, and a fire pit.

The pool’s bright blue water stretches across the backyard and beckons visitors to dip their feet in. A shallow area near the cabana looks like the shoreline of a beach; you could sit and sun yourself while a few inches of water cool you down. A waterfall cascades into the deep end, while an underwater ledge offers a place to rest after swimming laps. When temperatures skyrocket in the summer, a pool chiller keeps the water cold.

Take a full tour of this backyard with the gallery below.
