Welcome back to Laps of Luxury, a weekly summer series where we spotlight the most stunning pools in North Texas.

Today, we’re heading north to 4800 Park Lane, a grand estate situated on over four acres of land in Preston Hollow. This might be one of the most iconic homes in Texas. In 1978, the 10,000-square-foot residence made its debut on the television series Dallas.

Thanks to a full renovation in 2003, the home looks a bit different now, but the integrity of its Georgian architecture was beautifully preserved. Each room is just as opulent as the home’s façade would suggest. In addition to five bedrooms, you’ll find a parlor with mahogany walls and floors, an elegant movie screening room, a home gym in a detached guest cottage, a master retreat with its own sitting room, and more.

While this 1939 build is a masterpiece, its bucolic backyard deserves equal acclaim.

The outdoor space feels like the French countryside. A tennis court and fire pit offer different vantage points of the well-landscaped, multi-level backyard that seems to stretch on forever.

The pool deck, which is sprinkled with chaises and umbrellas, is illuminated by rays that filter through mature trees. Bachman Creek and Browning Creek both flow along the property lines. They converge in one corner of the grounds, just below the spa at the end of the pool.

Take a full tour of this serene backyard with the gallery below.

This home is listed by Elly Holder and Gretchen Brasch at Compass and is on the market for $8,995,000.
