Those of us who are immersed in the Dallas design community on a daily basis are no strangers to the illustrious industry our city has bred over the years. Although national accolades and attention are always welcomed, they prove what we already know: the Dallas design community is elite—the best of the best. This week’s news from Kips Bay Boys & Girl Club is no exception.
The organization announced it will debut one of its iconic decorator show houses here in Dallas from September 25 to October 25. Kips Bay will select local interior designers to transform a property into an exhibition people can tour, with proceeds going to a couple of charities, including Dallas’ own Dwell with Dignity.
For the past 47 years, premiere New York designers have been transforming a Manhattan property to benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club of New York. The Dallas show house will be only the third location in the country, the second being Palm Beach.
“With such talented designers in Texas, we expect our debut in Dallas to be one of our best Show Houses ever and the perfect backdrop for creativity and inspiration,” says James Druckman, president of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club board.
Steele Marcoux, Christopher Peacock, and Jan Showers will chair the Dallas edition, while Jean Lui and Chad Dorsey will serve as vice-chairs. A specific property has not been determined for the show house, so check back closer to October for more details.
