Inside Influencer Ashley Robertson’s Picture-Perfect North Dallas Home

Ashley Robertson is known for her chic, neutral-hued Instagram and blog. And though her online content focuses mainly on fashion and lifestyle, her most recent endeavor hits a little closer to home.

Originally from Plano, Ashley married Flower Mound-native Austin Robertson in 2012. The pair put down roots in a Plano townhouse, but once they began planning for a family, they made the decision to migrate south to Dallas proper. All the homes that piqued their interest called for intense renovations — they needed to make room for two home offices, a studio in which Ashley could create content, and future children. So, they just decided to start from scratch. “We thought ‘let’s build a house, that’ll be easier,’ when really that was a big challenge,” Ashley says. “We needed to build a home that could fit our life—have our family grow into it.”

They called on Olerio Homes to build their abode and Ginger Curtis of Urbanology Designs to bring the interior to life. Now having lived in the home for a year, the property fits right into the aesthetic of Ashley’s content, which is no accident. After discovering that home-centric posts performed well, Curtis helped Ashley and Austin make their home ultra-shoppable, using brands like Kelly Wearstler, Nuevo, and CB2. “We had the intent for this to be a business opportunity from the beginning,” Ashley says. “Moving into this home, building it, and sharing that process with our readers has allowed us to give them new content, and new opportunities for [our] growth.”



The home, which is nestled in North Dallas, is a hybrid between luxe-mod and Persian sophistication—the space acknowledges history but embraces today’s styles. Modern furnishings with hints of gold mixes with both Surrealist and Renaissance-esque art. Nearly every wall in the cozy traditional build is covered with a stark white paint, allowing architectural elements, patterns, and finishes to pop.

The design elements are set aglow with one of Ashley’s favorite features: the natural light that shines through broad windows on each side of the house. “We wanted a lot of natural light in our house and I think that comes from years living in apartments and townhomes,” Ashley says.

Ashley and Austin customized a few other features specifically to make their new life as parents of one a bit easier. In their upstairs quarters, they put a nursery on the opposite side of their bedroom so that music and chatting wouldn’t keep the baby up. They also tucked the laundry room behind Ashley’s closet, keeping dirty clothes out of sight.

Though the couple originally came into the process thinking they could do it alone, Ashley gives all the credit to their designer. “I kind of had the mindset of ‘oh we can do it on our own.’ After talking with Ginger, I realized how much she does, helping you with every element down to the trim color,” Ashley says. “She was just a lovely person. Everyone knows building or renovating is very stressful, and she truly made this process so much better.”
