Shop Talk

Melinda Jones Read Between the Lines is such a happy place to visit. The small, Victory Park gift shop is chock-full of her own line of cheery stationery and prints, along with collections from Austin- and Los Angeles-based brands. This fall, Jones is bringing her curated mix to a second store in Plano’s Legacy West, which offers a little more breathing room for an expanded assortment of Read Between the Line’s always on-point assortment of gifts.

Cool Fall Internships

Do you know someone looking for a fall internship? Do you know someone looking for a cool, fashion- or design-related fall internship? Both GAIA Empowered Women and Maxwell & Gray are looking to hire interns interested in the fashion or wedding industries. Run and tell that.

Summer Sales

There are a lot of good sales in the summer, but we’d especially like to call your attention to these.

Set & Co. Dog Days of Summer Sale: an in-store only situation offering 50 to 75 percent off through the end of July.
Peacock Alley Summer Sale: Stop by any Peacock Alley store or outlet to give your boudoir a refresh through July 28.
For Home Forty Five Ten: The final few days of this July sale will see discounts up to 90 percent off and the chance to bid adieu to the lovely 1929 courtyard building on McKinney Avenue.

Workshops

The only workshops you regret are the ones you don’t sign up for. Here are two incredible opportunities to learn and avoid a life of regret.

Three Twelve Co.’s Sit With Your Sisters | July 28

A floral design workshop is the latest in Three Twelve Co.’s female-focused series, which is hosted in the bright, clean-lined Place at Tyler. Each workshop includes a Bird Bakery lunch, a good vibes-creating playlist, and expert instruction.

Oasis Plant Shop’s Flourish Event | July 26

The ladies of the adorable Bishop Arts plant shop are hosting a women-filled panel and small business market at Uptown’s WeWork from 6 to 9pm this evening. So no, it’s not a workshop per se, but you’ll most definitely learn something.
