Shop Global Goods at The Statler’s New Pop-Up Shop

The ever-evolving space will highlight local brands.

The Statler, downtown Dallas’ recently renovated gem of a hotel, continues to surprise us. Since its grand re-opening in October 2017, the hotel has announced plans for several new additions, from the all-day brunch spot Overeasy to a restaurant-meets-game-room called Scout.

As of February 5, the hotel now houses a globally-influenced pop-up shop. A collaboration with Unbranded, the pop-up offers free retail space for a curated group of artisans to display and sell their work. Unbranded, an innovative concept by Downtown Dallas Inc., also found success last holiday season with a winter marketplace in the historic Dallas Power & Light Building.

The pop-up will highlight a local brand for two months, starting with a minimalist collection of clothing, accessories, home decor and leather goods by OETL Co. Founded by Argentina-born and Italy-raised Gisela Borghi-Hocker, the brand features hand-made products by artisans that Borghi-Hocker has befriended throughout her world travels. (Think buttery leather backpacks, oversized swingy knit pullovers, and quirky hammered-metal necklaces and pins.) Shoppers will also find pieces produced in partnership with local brands, from Boulevard East’s leather goods to Modern + Soul’s handcrafted slip-on mules.

The pop-up is open at 1914 Commerce Street. Stop in Monday through Saturday from 10am to 8pm, or Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
