The Hottest Properties of 2017

Five homes, four neighborhoods, two reality stars, and one famous architect.

Each Tuesday in 2017, we presented a “Hot Property,” but only five could reign supreme. Here, we showcase the hottest of the “hot” this year.

1. The Bachelorette Jojo Fletcher’s Dallas Home

The updated-but-classic ranch house is what M Streets dreams are made of. It also just happened to be the home of beloved Bachelorette JoJo and her betrothed (Aaron Rodgers’ little bro) for a year after they announced their engagement. With its tangerine door and trendy palm wallpaper, it served as the perfect backdrop for a sponsored post. And though it’s off the market now, we’ll never forget the Instagrams.

Status: off the market as of July, according to Zillow

2. Prairie-Style Modernism by Frank Lloyd Wright Protégé

The ’70s-era home sits on a private, gated 1.3-acre lot, and has the particular cachet of being designed by architect Kelly Oliver, an apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright. Highlights include an open floor plan, a geometric pool surrounded by lush landscaping and palm tree-lined walkways, a very hip wall covering in the entryway, and a sauna. We’d move out to Irving for it any day.

Status: off the market as of October, according to Zillow

3. High Tech Highland Park New Build

No matter how you feel about new builds on Beverly Drive, this is an exceptionally beautiful home. (The landscaping alone scores major points.) But the real thrill is discovering all the modern conveniences it includes. There are warming drawers, heated towel racks, phantom screens, and an 8-car garage with a phantom lift (for reference). You’ll never look at room-temperature towels the same way again.

Status: still on the market

4. Remodeled 1920s Craftsman in Highland Park

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what made us fall for this stunning remodel. As charming as its facade is, that kitchen is really something else. Then there’s the reading loft (which looks as charming as that sounds), a hidden wine closet, and gorgeous carriage house. The outdoor fire pit is just icing on the beautifully-preserved cake.

Status: off the market as of October, according to Zillow

5. A Bright New Build in the Bishop Arts District

If your heart broke a little when you saw “new build” and “Bishop Arts” in the same headline, we get it. But the striking, thoughtfully-sized home, which completely transformed a spacious lot just a few blocks from the popular area, helped lift your spirits.

Status: off the market as of June, according to Zillow
