When I was just beginning to figure out the Dallas design world, Jan Showers was one of the first names that made an impression. Her glamorous interiors featured in the pages of D Home are some of the most memorable for me. (Seriously, try to forget this coffee table moment.) I was grateful when she offered this sick burn to the ’80s design trend in our 2016 issue. Also, I once heard her give a talk about the importance of having a lamp by every seating area (both for practicality and flattering light) and I haven’t lit up the recessed LED bulbs in my living room since. I adore her.

So, it should come as no surprise that Architectural Digest does too. She was just honored in the publications annual AD100 for 2018, which celebrates visionary architects and designers around the world. In an illustrious list which includes Kelly Wearstler, The Archers, and Nate Berkus Associates, Jan Showers & Associates Inc. is the only Texas firm present, but we have some excellent representation.

Visit our slideshow for a few of our favorite examples of Showers’ work found in the pages of D Home.
