Somewhere in the not-so-distant future, Nancy Meyers will arrive in Dallas to location scout for her latest movie, in which Blake Lively plays a cute but clumsy widow who finds a new sense of self after reconnecting with her sexy high school English teacher—or something like that. After several disappointing home visits, Nancy will broaden her search to Westover Hills, where she’ll stumble upon 52 Valley Ridge Road. “At last!” she’ll say. “I have found the perfect hacienda that, though palatial and obviously costly, will feel cozy and make the character seem down to earth!” Or something like that.

Per usual, Nance would be right. Though the 1940s home is just over 9,000-square-feet, its thoughtful layout keeps it from ever feeling overwhelming. Perhaps it’s the warmth of the wood vaulted ceilings, the adobe brick floor, or the soft green and white color-scheme throughout. And though the home has clearly been updated to keep up with the times, not a single room feels strained or out of place with the classic façade.

There’s also the matter of Fort Worth’s rolling hills, easily seen from any point on the 1.5 acres the home is situated on above, including the pool. Nancy, if you’re reading, we’ve done your work for you. No need to pay us!
