Usually, while perusing new listings, when you stumble upon a freshly constructed home you immediately brace yourself for the slideshow. Yes, the interior will be clean, with nice finishes, and will probably be somewhat energy efficient, but the home also runs the high, high risk of being a bit bland. There are only so many floating oak cabinets and white marble islands a person can see before they all begin to blend together. So that’s why it’s nice—and almost shocking—to see new construction that surprises and inspires with each passing slideshow photo, which, of course, was the case with 3828 Greenbrier Avenue.
You guys, at the risk of being utterly casual, this house is just so pretty. It’s so attractive in fact, that there were three photos of the kitchen taken at almost exactly the same angle, and I didn’t mind one bit. (When you see the kitchen, you’ll understand.) Also, the rest of the slideshow more than makes up for the random kitchen repetition. It artfully takes us through the home, pausing to offer close ups on corners that could really just be advertisements for painting your cabinets.
There are some other lovely highlights as well, such as the Harold Leidner-designed backyard, the gray and white checkerboard limestone, or the beautiful juxtaposition between more traditional elements (Danby marble and an antique reclaimed Ludowici tile roof) and modern additions (stackable steel doors and an open floor plan). But those cabinets and their Easter-ready colors will forever be in our hearts.
