Festival theme announcement at Lakewood’s Fourth of July Parade

Though the kids in attendance were probably more thrilled by the Twizzlers and Pop Rocks thrown out at Lakewood’s Fourth of July Parade on Monday, those who appreciate a well-designed home preferred the announcement of this year’s Lakewood Home Festival theme: “Lights, Camera, Lakewood.” An auction party — complete with a red carpet — will kick off the events 40th year on November 11, 2016 at the Belo Mansion, followed by the Home Tour on November 12 and 13.

The party sells out every year, so we recommend snagging your tickets early ($125 in advance and $175 at the door, pending availability). The ticket includes access to the home and candlelight tour. “Guests should wear either costumes from their favorite movie, dress like a favorite Hollywood celebrity or come in gala attire for a Hollywood movie premiere,” says LECPTA Party Co-Chair Courtney Bock Mathews. If the auction, costume contest, and home tours aren’t enticing enough, the Lakewood Home Festival supports local neighborhood schools, so you can feel good while you party.

Check out www.lakewoodhomefestival.com for more information. We look forward to seeing your most fabulous Meryl costumes in November.
