What You Can Buy on White Rock Lake

We're all about that lakefront life.

Of the many things I cherish about my White Rock walks, the real estate might be my favorite. Every house is spectacle in and of itself. Some homes are sprawling, Tara Plantation-types of estates. Some are more modern, with inexplicable lawn statues. And one or two are so incredibly massive that you can’t help but stare. If you’re in the market for a lakefront home that I’ll inevitably end up gawking at, here are a few of your options.

4535 W Lawther Drive

Price: $4,520,000

Year Built: 2008

By the Numbers: 5 Bedrooms, 5.2 Bathrooms, 8,503 Square Feet

Highlights: This not-so-little Southern-inspired slice of heaven just makes me want to sit and stay awhile. Preferably on the screened in porch while someone makes me a hot toddy in the enormous, gourmet kitchen.

7581 Benedict Drive

tudor

Price: $979,126

Year Built: 1965

By the Numbers: 4 Bedrooms, 6.1 Bathrooms, 3,186 Square Feet

Highlights: There aren’t any interior shots of this Tudor home, which I assume has something to do with the listing’s declaration that it’s a “fantastic renovation opportunity.” Honestly, I’d get my HGTV on for views that good.

4636 Chapel Hill Road

chapelhill

Price: $6,995,000

Year Built: 2006

By the Numbers: 5 Bedrooms, 6.3 Bathrooms, 13,555 Square Feet

Highlights: Remember those massive homes I was talking about? This is what I had in mind. According to the listing, it was inspired by a “Tuscan farmhouse village,” which seems awfully quaint for a 13,000-square-foot home that looks like the site of a house party on Laguna Beach. But you know what, I like Tuscany, and I still wish I had been invited to LC’s black and white party, so I’d happily live here.
