What You Can Buy in Lake Park Estates

Where all but one street has an Irish name.

While perusing some of our newly added neighborhood guides, we came across a small one just north of Casa Linda Plaza that seemed perfectly appropriate for today’s holiday. Comprised of streets almost solely named after Irish locations, Lake Park Estates is teaming with mid-century homes (most with modern updates) and boasts close proximity to all that White Rock Lake has to offer.

Now, given the neighborhood’s small nature, and our determination to feature it on St. Patrick’s Day, only two our of three of these listings are truly within the boundaries of Lake Park Estates. We hope you can forgive us.

1176 Bally Mote Drive

ballymote2

Price: $579,500

Year Built: 1962

By the Numbers: 4 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, 2,886 Square Feet

Highlights: The kitchen, you guys. The kitchen. It’s a place we want to be. It’s a place where we might actually want to cook. But on a more serious note, this is the kind of absolutely gorgeous remodel that melts our HGTV-loving hearts.

9915 Donegal Drive

donegal

Price: $299,500

Year Built: 1950

By the Numbers: 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, 1,411 Square Feet

Highlights: Maybe it’s because Full House is playing on a TV screen in this listing’s slideshow, but this cheery single-story house really looks like a home. (Good job, stagers!) Recent updates also give this ’50s home a current feel.

*Full disclosure: an offer has just been placed on this house, but sometimes sellers accept backup offers, and we also just really wanted to make this work.

936 Peavy Road

peavy2

Price: $225,000

Year Built: 1956

By the Numbers: 3 Bedrooms, 1.1 Bathrooms, 1,110 Square Feet

Highlights: This mid-century modern makes the most of its limited square footage, creating a home that feels open, cool (thanks in part to some beautiful floors and contemporary bathrooms), and as interesting as its nature heavy surroundings.

* Full disclosure: this house is technically in Eastwood, but it’s about ten paces away from Lake Park Estates, and once again, we’re just really trying to make this work.
