Do you like to home ogle? Do you like driving by houses and thinking to yourself, “I’ve been in there. Their indoor hot tub was quite appealing”? Do you actually need to find a new home to live in? Every other week, we scout out three open houses in three different neighborhoods that look well worth the trip.

3130 N Harwood St #1501 | Open Saturday, 12 – 4pm

Blue Ciel

Neighborhood: Uptown

Price: $4,585,000

Why It Looks Cool: If you’ve visited DMagazine.com in recent months, there’s probably been a time when you’ve thrown up your fists in a fit of rage, yelling to the heavens, “BLUE CIEL!” At least that’s what I do when I fall prey to the pop-ups. But despite accidentally clicking on the ad almost every day of my life, I am definitely intrigued by the insanely chic high-rise in Harwood, and the photos here do not disappoint. So yes, I’d say this would be a cool open house. Unit #1501 would be a seriously stunning place to call home, and I want to touch things inside its rooms.

9970 Strait Ln | Open Sunday, 1 – 3pm

strait lane

Neighborhood: Preston Hollow

Price: $3,295,000

Why It Looks Cool: I’d drop most day-to-day activities to tour any home on Strait Lane, but this particular sprawling estate, with its creek views and cathedral ceilings, would really be a site to see. If feel more relaxed just looking at the photos of its idyllic views, its clean, bright design, and, of course, its “majestic pool overlooks the meandering creek below”.

5740 Morningside Ave | Open Sunday, 2 – 4pm

morningside

Neighborhood: Lower Greenville

Price: $735,000

Why It Looks Cool: If you’ve been reading my blogs closely (and why wouldn’t you be!?), you can probably glean that I’d like to have a home in the M-Streets one day. And, if I were to describe said home to you, 5740 Morningside Avenue would come pretty darn close. A well-maintained 1920s façade? Check. Pool and guesthouse? Check, check. Newly renovated with an open floor plan, lovely hardware floors, and modern appliances? Check, check, and check. A 600+ wine bottle cellar? You guessed it! A big fat check!
