Do you like to home ogle? Do you like driving by houses and thinking to yourself, “I’ve been in there. Their indoor hot tub looked inviting?” Do you actually need to find a new home to live in? Every other week, we scout out three open houses in three different neighborhoods that seem well worth the trip.

4511 Watauga Road

bluffview2

The Neighborhood: Bluffview/Briarwood

The Price: $6,450,000

Why It Looks Cool: Dallas has some large homes, but most of those homes don’t hold a candle to this mammoth North Dallas estate. Everything is larger than life. The windows are huge. The island in the middle of the gourmet kitchen is massive. I’m expecting Turtle from Entourage to come out at any moment to pop champagne and do a cannonball into the pool, which is, surprisingly, standard in size. Big houses might not be your thing, but sometimes you’ve just got to step into one, tour its extensive array of rooms, and take it all in.

4304 Beverly Drive

beverly

The Neighborhood: Highland Park

The Price: $2,500,000

Why It Looks Cool: The opportunity to tour any home on Beverly Drive would pique almost anyone’s interest, but this stylish residence looks like it would be particularly satisfying. The newly remodeled home remains true to its Tudor roots, while getting plenty of chic, modern touches. Each room has something interesting going on, including the girly girls’ room, and it’s über-cool bunkbeds.

9026 McCraw Drive

devonshire2

The Neighborhood: Devonshire

The Price: $1,897,000

Why It Looks Cool: Looking at the sleek, wood-paneled entryway from the curb, one might wonder what kind of hipness lie beyond the front door. And judging by the slideshow on Ebby.com, there’s even more hipness than you might expect. The 1950s-era home was recently remodeled by WALKER+MIRANDA, evoking a retro-musing style with all of the modern amenities you want in a new home.
