No matter where they come from, people know Preston Hollow. One of Dallas’ most prestigious neighborhoods is home to some of the richest folks in the city, and a certain former president of the United States. Though Preston Hollow housing prices can soar to astronomical heights ($100 million anyone?), the majority of the streets are lined with modest ranch-style homes. Here, we tried to find the middle ground to give you a taste for the types of dwellings you can find in the North Dallas neighborhood.

9784 Audubon Place

Originally built in the 1960s, the Preston Hollow home was renovated by the well-known Dallas architect Downing Thomas. The result: A traditional Georgian exterior that gives way to the beautifully updated and functional design inside. Four-poster beds mix surprisingly well with more modern bathroom features, and the gorgeously landscaped backyard creates the perfect entrance for a guesthouse so lovely, we’d happily move in any day.

Sometimes, all anyone needs is a nice spot to enjoy their tea and crumpets. If this sounds like you, then we’ve found the perfect place, old chap! The classic English manor on Inwood Road maintains a bright airiness throughout its extensive grounds. From the beautifully wallpapered rooms to a cozy library and charming parlor, the Preston Hollow estate is the perfect place to spend a fortnight.

9800 Rockbrook Drive

So, truth be told, this really should have been “What $8 Million Buys You in Preston Hollow,” but we wouldn’t have been able to forgive ourselves if we didn’t include this insane Mediterranean home on Rockbrook Drive. Yes, it’s about $4 million more than the other two properties, but there is a jungle-themed room complete with murals of a lion, a gorilla, and a snake. The theater room has some interesting murals of its own as well, and the master bathroom actually glistens. Basically, everyone should see the grandness that is 9800 Rockbrook Drive, even if only in slideshow form.

  • $12 Million
