Pretty Porches and Patios to Soak Up Summer On

Some of my favorite summer memories played out on my parent’s patio. From roasting marshmallows over the fire pit to the wonderfully long, wine or sangria fueled chats, there was something about sitting out on our pretty patio that made those experiences all the more special.

Having just booked a summer trip to the home front in Nashville, I was inspired to search for some of the breeziest porches and patios of the D Home pages of yore, and, of course, a sparkly summer cocktail to sip while you’re on them.

Fireside Pie’s White Peach Sangria

(Serves 2)

2/3 cup white wine
1/4 cup brandy
1/4 cup peach Schnapps
1/3 cup peach nectar

The wine does not have to be chilled. Add all of the ingredients in a pint glass with ice, and shake vigorously. Garnish with a lemon, lime, orange, and cherry.
