Do you like to home ogle? Do you like driving by houses and thinking to yourself, “I’ve been in there. Their indoor hot tub was quite appealing”? Do you actually need to find a new home to live in? Every other week, we scout out three open houses in three different neighborhoods that look well worth the trip.
3501 Milton Avenue | Open Sunday, June 21 from 2 – 4pm
The Neighborhood: University Park
The Price: $2,795,000
Why It Looks Cool: It’s clean, it’s beautiful, and the bathrooms and closets look so sleek and up-to-date that my heart actually skipped a beat. If the Disney Channel were ever to remake the 1999 original television movie Smart House (though they absolutely should not, that film is perfect), I’d say 3501 Milton would be a prime location-scouting discovery. Bonus points for staging one of my favorite children’s rooms.
7306 Currin Drive | Open Sunday, June 21 from 2 – 4pm
The Neighborhood: North Dallas
The Price: $925,000
Why It Looks Cool: It’s hip, yet sophisticated. It’s modern and Southwestern. 7306 Currin is many wonderful things wrapped into one, cool, beautifully laid-out house. It also has a fabulous description (that makes use of the word “fabulous” of course) on Ebby.com containing an interesting phrase: “marriage saving dual shower heads.” Question: Is that a real thing or just a playful adjective? My parents only have one shower head. Are they in trouble?
5434 Vanderbilt Avenue | Open Saturday, June 20 from 3 – 5pm
The Neighborhood: Lower Greenville
The Price: $609,000
Why It Looks Cool: From its bright sunroom and pretty painted walls, to the custom iron gate and welcoming backyard, this little Lower Greenville tudor could charm the pants off of anyone. I feel at home just looking at the pictures.
