Hot Highland Park Spaces That Aren’t Million Dollar Mansions

No yard? No problem!

Highland Park is known for some of the most gorgeous and priciest properties in Texas. But what if you live alone or with only one or two others or simply yearn for something smaller that’s still located in the esteemed neighborhood? Being a college student and unable to even remotely afford any of the homes in Highland Park, I scouted some spaces that are fit for a smaller number of roommates and are just as beautiful and fab to live at as any of the houses are. From some seriously awesome condos and apartments to cozy town homes that are on the market, we’ve got everything you need for some happy (non-house) hunting!

4500 Roland Ave. APT 507

Complex: Park Plaza

Price: $495,000

Why It’s Perfect For You: At 1,985 square feet with two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, this condo is ideal for one or two people. You’ll also have that nice “house feel” since it comes with a two-car garage. The enormous rooms and bathrooms will make you completely forget that you’re in a condo, but what I love the most about this listing is that (according to Zillow) it’s 60.3% less expensive than the median home in the neighborhood. Talk about more bang for your buck!

4242 Lomo Alto Dr. APT N50

Complex: Crestpark Condos

Price: $685,000

Why It’s Perfect For You: Scour the the same lifestyle as any Highland Park homeowner for a lot less money in this two bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom property. Oh, and the view is killer. It overlooks the pool pavilion so you can see all of the Dallas skyline. My  favorite thing about it is the bright kitchen and bathrooms that make the already lavish condo feel even spacier. Okay, I lied. That’s not my only favorite thing…it’s also walking distance to Whole Foods and Nonna. Nom.

4650 Cole Avenue

Complex: AMLI Knox-Henderson

Price: $1,679/month

Why It’s Perfect For You: If you loooooove fitness and shopping like I do, then this place is your absolute dream. Not only does it sit adjacent to Highland Park, but it has a pool and beautiful courtyard and you can get your work out on in the fitness center, dry sauna and indoor basketball and racquetball courts. But we haven’t even gotten to the shopping yet. It’s walking distance of Knox Park Village, and a mere couple minutes from the Uptown and West Village shopping centers. So you’re basically living the life for a much smaller price. Go you.

3515 Normandy Ave. #8

Complex: Mount Vernon Heights

Price: $855,000

Why It’s Perfect For You: Three bedrooms. Three-and-a-half bathrooms. Media play room. 3,069 square feet. What’s not to love? Oh, and it’s brand new. This town home really struck my fancy with its classy black roof and lanterns that complement every door. In a perfect world, I’d picture myself living here and going all out with decorations during the holidays. (Carolers welcome.)
