Part of what is beautiful about building luxury custom homes is the way a job can evolve and take on a personality of its own over time. The home that is expertly drawn by the architect and imagined by the builder doesn’t ultimately take shape until a client breathes life into the selection process. The client’s wish-list has the potential to come together in a perfect way, as long as a team is in place to help their vision come to life.
Such was the case with this luxury custom home on Centenary. Our team at Coats Homes worked tirelessly with the client, designer (Neal Stewart) and architect (Paul Turney) to create something unique, but classic. The vision was a gracious Southern home—but with a sleek edge that would create something truly unexpected around each corner. The “formula” was to do something traditional, but with a twist, as often as we could. For example, a bright white kitchen with Calcutta marble is balanced with shiny back-painted glass walls, a sleek, almost industrial custom vent-hood cover, and antique mirror accents in the cabinetry. The formal living space has traditional paneling, but in a warm gold tone. A gold living room might scare some clients on paper, but since the roots of the house were so classic, taking a few risks resulted in something very special in the end.
When a builder’s team, a designer, and a client work closely together the process is more fun and, we believe, the key to creating the most unique homes and the most satisfied clients. If you are thinking about building don’t hesitate to call us at Coats Homes, we love our process and we are very passionate about building homes and serving our clients with excellence.
Inspired and in love with our job,
