In the May/June 2012 issue of D Home, we revisited the home of Alicia and Adam Rico, the floral masterminds behind Bows and Arrows. We highlighted the new “big girl” room they designed for their daughter Dotty. And we also showed you the den they added on. The space looks great, of course, but my favorite part is the neon sign they hung above the fireplace. One of the couple’s favorite songs is “Perfect Day” by Lou Reed, so they enlisted Neon of Dallas to make a custom sign that pays homage to the song. Needless to say, I’ve been trying to think of a brilliant way to rip off this bright idea for my own fireplace.
