The Mother of All Houseplants

Based on its copious sightings in the homes of various design cognoscenti, the fiddle-leaf fig appears to be the latest home accessory de rigueur. (Past items include birch logs, antlers, chunks of coral and that ubiquitous gazillion-pound Cabinet of Natural Curiosities tome.)

Trendiness aside, the fiddle-leaf is just a seriously cool plant. Its sort of sculptural meets earthy vibe packs a big punch in any room, and it’s (relatively) low-maintenance — a bonus given my  propensity for killing house plants.  I have one in my living room and one in my den.  Suffice to say, I’m a fan.

They’re not readily available at most nurseries in town, but Sunshine Miniature Trees on Greenville is my secret source (well not so secret anymore…you can thank me later).

p.s. — The Calloways on Greenville sports a nice selection of pots worthy of these bad boys.
