I’ve been to cooler climes for the last two weeks, I’m not going to go into temperature highs of 75 or so. That would be so mean, and I already hurt Laura’s feelings when I told her that I did, in fact, go outside and walk at 2:00. So, I’m back and determined to stay cool, and also to be kind to my fellow man. So, I intend to spend a little meditation time every day starting on Friday, August 19, at the Crow Museum across the street on Flora. This is the special time when Tibetan monks create a sacred tantric mandala using millions of grains of colored sand and tiny utensils to place them in intricate patterns. At the end of the week, the sand is poured into a local water source in a sacred ceremony symbolizing the impermanence of life. The Buddhist belief is that this ancient spiritual art form generates energies for global healing. Maybe we could hope for some global cooling as well.
