EC Dicken has the Modern Look

Quincy Bibliotek from CW Quinn

Even in this nasty hot weather I have to go out to find inspiration. I know, most of my co-workers depend on the almighty internet to find all their ideas, but I’m old school. I like to go see in person, look at the details, admire the finish or weave technique. Actually, I just like to get out of the office and go visit my friends in the Design District. The EC Dicken Showroom has always been the grandaddy of conservative, traditional furnishings. In 1955, EC Dicken practically invented the English country house look here in Dallas with antiques, Oriental rugs, hunting scenes on the walls, and boxes and accessories on every available horizontal surface. A few years ago, when 3rd generation son Chris Dicken hogtied his father Buzz Dicken to lighten up and go more modern they hired my friend Ike Isenhour to help them accomplish a sleek, pared down look.  I’m happy to say that they keep adding wonderful new lines that complement their old standards and liven up the showroom. I love this Quincy Bibliotek from CW Quinn in bloodwood, ebony walnut and zebrawood—that sexy satin finish appears to glow in the dark.
