Yes, I have been complaining a lot about being back and how hot it is in Dallas, but, as always, I am inspired by what Dallas has to offer on the design scene. So, I’m finding things that cheer me up every day until I can actually go outside and do something. Right now, I’m obsessed with these new Panton chairs from Design Within Reach. They were originally designed by Verner Panton in 1973 and have just been re-released into production. His thought was that he wanted to design organic things, that seemed to grow from the ground. I can’t think of a single thing with four legs that grows out of the ground, so I believe he’s onto something. Notice how different the two chairs look with and without the tufting. Even better, they’re on sale right now—the orange fabric chair in $1360 and the brown leather is $3655. Right now is a good time to have a seat on sale.
