Library by John Phifer Marrs

Can you say “Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour” quickly five times? No worries if you can’t. Instead focus your time and energy on actually going on this tour. This is your moment to enter homes where strangers live! And you’ll see wonderful rooms, like this library designed by John Marrs at 5112 Swiss Avenue.  This particular office overlooks the garden. The home owner wanted something inspired by “Chartwell,” which was Sir Winston Churchill’s home in England. In addition to the lovely and historic homes on the tour, there’s so much more! Air-conditioned mini coaches and horse-drawn carriages are available for your use for free! You can also hang out in Savage Park while snacking on delicious food and drink from Penne Pomodoro among others. Rock out live music and buy pieces created by local artisans. On Sunday, check out the Champagne brunch from 11 am to 2 pm, also at Savage Park. Click here to get the deets on where to buy tickets.
