Mikyung Chun Has the Velvet Touch

Theo Desk by Promemoria

We have a welcome and very glamorous addition to the Dallas Design District with the opening last week of Promemoria. Owner Mikyung Chun did not disappoint in her gorgeous orange column gown, and the new space positively shines with the modern yet baroque look of the collection—chairs with exagerrated curves, perfectly executed polished metal accents, and clever and innovative uses of familiar textures. The very dapper and charming Romeo Sozzi came in from Milan for the opening, he does, after all, design and build everything in the collection. I was taken with the Theo desk made specifically for Mikyung—it is completey upholstered in rich silk velvet with matching leather lined drawers. It comes in three sizes and an endless array of finishes, upholstery, and leather options, this version is $12,550.  It’s impossible not to touch it, I challenge you to go in and try to keep your hands off.
