Coral Is A Great Color For Fashion This Season. But As A Design Element, Spent.

I invested in a great coral Akris jacket last month, swept up with my salesperson’s assurance that coral was the color this season. My succumbance (not sure it’s a word, but it’s good, right?) to the fashion gods brought to mind a column we published a while back by David Feld, who wrote a scold to everyone who bit on the coral fad, in this case referencing the marine organisms that for about three seasons made their way to every pillow, coffee table, and textile in America. Now they look tired, which is a shame because they are actually rather cool.
