There’s a four page spread in the February 1985 issue of D Magazine that spotlights the hottest restaurants in Fort Worth at the time.

“Fort Worth, as everybody knows, glories in being Texan. For many years, most of its best restaurants were emphatically Texan, too — you certainly couldn’t say that about the other big cities in the state,” W.L. Taitte writes, “Lately, Fort Worth has gingerly allowed itself to become a bit more cosmopolitan and international in its restaurant offerings, but you can bet your boots it’s not going to lose its sense of self to these newfangled glamour spots.”

Cattlemen’s, Joe T. Garcia’s, and Kincaid’s are among the featured hotspots. Click the images below and take a step back in Dallas (or in this case, Fort Worth) dining history.
