Texas leaders are shifting $456 million previously slated for COVID-19 relief to help fund the 10,000 troops at the border as part of Operation Lone Star, where Texas State Guard and Texas National Guard troops are stationed at the border to deter illegal immigration. Fox 4 KDFW says that COVID-19 hospitalizations remain low in North Texas. There were 263 new cases and 2 deaths reported Tuesday in all of Tarrant, Collin, and Denton counties.


UT Dallas is ending some COVID-19 protocols such as unvaccinated students, faculty, and staff no longer needing to complete daily health checks. The University has removed the COVID-19 reporting tab from the website, and stopped sending daily emails about cases to the student body too, according to Dallas Morning News.
