DFW Healthcare Brief: Texas Health’s Orthopedic Partnership and Medical City’s Lung Center

Texas Health Mansfield has a program to provide comprehensive orthopedic services in its community after learning that many residents travel outside Mansfield for their care. The partnership will connect patients to physicians, labs, physical therapy, imaging services, and education minutes from the hospital. Texas Health partnered with three private practices in the area, including Water Oak Foot and Ankle Surgery, Lone Star Orthopaedic and Spine Specialists, and Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute.


Medical City Arlington has launched its Center for Lung Health to provide screening, diagnosis, and treatment for all types of lung cancers. It will offer consultation with a team of lung experts including pulmonologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and radiologists.


Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright named D’Lesli Davis as its US Head of Life Sciences and Healthcare. The Dallas litigation partner focuses on representing pharmaceutical and medical device clients in state and federal courts across the country, dealing with government actions, commercial and economic loss, and product liability matters.


Telemedicine platform Spora Health has launched a primary care services platform for people of color while partnering with affordable health insurer Decent, which targets self-employed professionals and their families. Decent’s plans are built around direct primary care model, and Spora Health’s culturally competent care providers receive training to understand minorities unique background and needs.


The University of Texas at Arlington selected Barbara St. Pierre Schneider to be the Endowed Chair in gerontological Nursing Excellence and serve on the graduate nursing department at the College of Nursing and Health Innovation. Schneider is known for her work studying aging, and is a senior nursing faculty member with experience in nursing and has received funding from the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, and others.
