A Plano dad beats COVID-19 after 197 days in the hospital. Collin College's $42M re-skilling grant.

There are 2,439 patients with COVID-19 in North Texas, a 469 patient decrease from Friday representing 17.5 percent of available bed capacity and 35.5 percent of adult ICU patients according to DFW Hospital Council CEO Steve Love.


A project led by Collin College has received total of $4.2 million in re-skilling grants to help Texan students and workers impacted by COVID-19 disruptions. The program is designed to aid students most affected to fund their completion of their post-secondary education. Read the story from the Dallas Morning News here.

Omicron cases are receding, though Dallas County continues to encourage vaccination. NBC DFW shares that 64 percent of adults have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
