A 50,800 square foot hospital is on the way to Arlington. Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital Arlington will provide comprehensive inpatient physical-medicine rehabilitation with individualized care plans for patients in the Arlington area.

The hospital will include food services and dining areas, physical therapy spaces, medical staff rooms, patient dayrooms, and an outdoor courtyard for continued physical therapy on various surfaces and inclines. The hospital will be the fifth Reunion Rehabilitation location built in partnership with Adolfson & Peterson Construction and America Development and Investments LLC, a Dallas-based real estate developer.

Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Centers are a growing industry worth $40.1 billion nationwide. An aging population and extended life spans have contributed to the sector’s growth. As payers continue to push for preventative medicine and value-based care to keep patients out of more costly hospital settings, physical therapy will only become more popular. The WHO estimates that 2.4 billion people live with a condition that would benefit from physical therapy worldwide.

Designed by Callaway Architecture, the hospital will treat various debilitating conditions, including everything from stroke to orthopedic and brain injuries. Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital Arlington is one of several hospitals being developed by Reunion, including a 55,617 square-foot hospital in Plano, a 47,000 square-foot facility in Englewood, Colorado, a 49,128 square-foot hospital in Peoria, Arizona, and a 51,000 square-foot hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

“AP is proud to add Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital Arlington as the fifth location across three states in our continued partnership with Reunion and ADI,” said Bob Lemke, vice president of operations for AP via release. “As the demand for accessible resources like this grows alongside DFW’s rising population, AP is looking forward to extending these much-needed services to the Arlington community.”

Adolfson & Peterson Construction was founded in 1947 and is ranked as a Top 100 Contractor by Engineering News-Record that offers preconstruction, construction, and contracting services to commercial, education, healthcare, multifamily, and other sectors. It employs 600 team members in Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, and Texas. ADI was founded in 2021 and focuses on healthcare real estate development, with 2 million square feet of real estate across a range of commercial properties. The ADI team has completed 80 projects worth more than $2 billion.

Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital Arlington is expected to open in January 2023.
