COVID-19 Bulletin (01/27/22)

Free N95 mask distribution has begun in North Texas. Hospitalizations down in the region.

There is a total of 3,941 hospitalized patients with Covid-19 in North Texas, which is 26.5 percent of available bed capacity, and 46.1 percent of adult patients in the ICU, reported by DFW Hospital Council CEO and president Steve Love.


You can soon pick up your free N95 mask at select North Texas pharmacies. The Dallas Morning News reported that while masks are ready for distribution, the locations of who will be giving these masks out haven’t been specified. Read more here.


Dallas County approved new COVID-19 testing and sick leave policy for 6,500 employees. Policy requires weekly PCR testing, and those fully vaccinated may opt out. Unvaccinated workers are not eligible for extra sick leave. Read more from the Dallas Morning News here.


Lewisville ISD is the latest school district to close due to COVID-19. It is temporarily shut down due to lack of teachers and staff. Lewisville will close all 70 campuses Wednesday through Friday and will return next week on Monday. Read more here.
