Pfizer asks FDA for authorization of their experimental COVID-19 pill, The Dallas Morning News reports. Pfizer is requesting that the drug be made available for high-risk adults who have mild-to-moderate COVID-19 infections. Pfizer’s pill has been shown to cut the rate of hospitalizations and deaths among people with coronavirus infections by nearly 90%.
A CDC panel is set to discuss expanding booster eligibility Friday, reports the U.S. News & World Report. This CDC advisory panel will discuss expanding eligibility of COVID-19 booster shots to all adults. Some cities and states already allow all adults to get boosters, but it is not official U.S. policy. This discussion could make shots available across the nation as early as next weekend.
Fair Park set to reopen vaccination site later this month, NBC DFW reports. Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) is reopening the Fair Park COVID-19 vaccination location starting Nov. 21. Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available for all three doses, as well as doses for children ages 5-11.
