A federal judge blocked Gov. Greg Abbot’s ban on mask mandates for public schools, KERA reports. Wednesday’s ruling finds that Abbot’s order denies students with disabilities and vulnerable to COVID-19 access to education and services, violating the Americans with Disabilities Act.


Ten states challenge the COVID-19 healthcare worker vaccine mandate, reports the U.S. News and World Report. A coalition of 10 states sued the federal government on Wednesday seeking to block the vaccination mandate. Participants of the coalition say the vaccine requirement threatens the jobs of health care workers and could exacerbate an alarming shortage that can jeopardize healthcare interests in rural America.


UT Dallas and NASA study shows connection between air quality and COVID-19 severity, NBC reports. The collaboration study found that the quality of the air, including aerosol concentration and humidity, affects COVID-19 hospitalization rates in certain counties.
