Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reports a three-day total of 850 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths on Tuesday.


Pfizer requests FDA authorization of their vaccine booster shot for all adults over 18, FOX 4 reports. The request is based on results from a new study that found boosters provide more than 95% effectiveness against symptomatic COVID-19, compared with the original two doses administered.


The US lifts pandemic travel ban, WFAA reports. Monday, the US started accepting air travelers who have proof of vaccination and a negative COVID test. Travelers from Canada and Mexico will only need proof of vaccination. Airlines are required to verify vaccine records that could face fines of up to $35,000.


Poll finds most the majority of Texans support COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates, Texas Tribune reports. The University of Texas at Austin and Texas Tribune poll found that most Texan voters support mask requirements in indoor public spaces based on local conditions, mask requirements in public schools, and business requirements of proof of vaccination or regular tests. ​​Texas Tribune states the poll demonstrates that personal COVID-19 mitigation measures and perception of the virus consistently varies among Democrats and Republicans.
