Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 541 new COVID-19 cases and eight deaths on Friday.


FDA authorizes Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11, FOX 4 reports. Authorization comes after the FDA’s advisory panel recommended the vaccine for children. The CDC is set to decide on approving the shots for use in the upcoming days.


CDC announces immunocompromised can receive a fourth COVID vaccine shot, KERA reports. New guidance by the CDC says people who are moderately and severely immunocompromised can get a fourth COVID vaccine six months after their third shot, serving as a booster. For compromised immune systems a third shot of mRNA vaccines is sometimes needed to generate immunity, not technically a booster.
