He mentions that his wife, Nikki Johnson, is also fully vaccinated and has tested negative. Mayor Eric Johnson advocated for booster shots in a tweet Tuesday afternoon. “Please, #GetVaccinated if you haven’t yet, and get a booster shot when you’re eligible. Breakthrough cases, like mine, can happen, but they are less severe if you’ve been vaccinated.”
FDA panel considers Pfizer’s children vaccine, FOX 4 reports. This panel is set to discuss, analyze data, and vote on whether Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 for children 5 to 11 should be recommended for use. The FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee’s decision on the recommendation will influence the FDA’s agency decision on the recommendation.
Texas Department Of State Health Services lays out vaccination plan for children, CBS DFW reports. Texas’s DSHS updated vaccination plan includes 1.3 million pre-ordered vaccine doses that will be administered in three waves. Texas plans to receive 404,100 doses with the first wave of shipments, set to be sent out days after the emergency use authorization. More than 303,000 doses are expected for the second and third waves of shipments. Administration of the COVID vaccine can only begin after the CDC director approves the recommendation.
