Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 905 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths on Friday.


The Director of the Centers for Disease Control says Halloween trick-or-treating outside is absolutely safe for kids this year, WFAA Reports.  Although the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine most likely won’t be available for children under 12 by Halloween, Director Rochelle Walensky says trick-or-treating in small groups is still safe this year.


Texas emergency SNAP food benefits extended through October, KERA reports. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is providing nearly $294 million in emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits for the month of October. SNAP households will be receiveing a minimum of $95 emergency food allotments by October 31st.


Dallas Mavericks fans require proof of COVID-19 vaccine or negative test to attend games, FOX 4 reports. American Airlines Center staff will be at each door checking proof of negative tests and vaccination. Entry will be denied for those who are non-compliant with these requirements
