Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 1,000 new cases and 16 deaths on Wednesday.


Nearly 2 million people in Texas are overdue for a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, WFAA reports. Over 11% of people who received their first dose haven’t gotten a second shot in the recommended time frame. Dr. James McDeavitt, the executive vice president and dean of clinical affairs at Baylor College of Medicine, says second-shot hesitancy is concerning as the highly contagious delta variant has sparked a new surge in cases, increase in hospitalizations and deaths.


Monoclonal Antibody Infusion Therapy as a COVID-19 Treatment is Growing Popular In Fort Worth, CBS11 reports. Spokesperson for infusion center MedStar, Matt Zavadsky says their purpose is to serve as an overflow of patients from the hospital as well as first responders.


Children five to 11 years old could be eligible for the coronavirus vaccine by the end of October, WFAA reports. Pfizer could soon be seeking emergency vaccine approval for younger children this month given the concern of children are making up 25% of new COVID-19 cases.
