Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported a three-day total of 4,417 COVID-19 cases and four deaths on Tuesday.

North Texas has 2,849 COVID-19 patients in its hospitals representing 19.47 percent of available bed capacity and 44.09 percent of adult ICU patients, according to DFW Hospital Council CEO Steve Love.

Governor Greg Abbott has tested positive for COVID-19, multiple outlets are reporting. He is fully vaccinated, and sequestered in the governor’s mansion and receiving Regeneron’s monoclonal antibody treatment.

The White House will be recommending a booster shot of coronavirus vaccine eight months after initial immunizations, The New York Times reported. The extra doses may be available as soon as one month from now, beginning with healthcare workers and nursing home residents.

School districts are feeling lost in a sea of mask mandates and mandate bans by different levels of courts, forcing the organizations to flout the governor or wait for clarity. Dallas County had the most expansive mask mandates. The Texas Tribune has more.
