New Encompass Hospital CEO, Humana No. 1 in Texas, Steward Medical Group's new leadership, and more.

Kyllan Cody is now the CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of City View, which is a 77-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Fort Worth. Prior to this role, Cody was a consultant for NueHealth where she did management consultation to hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. She was also CEO at Cook Children’s Surgery Center.


Humana has been ranked No. 1 in Texas by J.D. Power ranking of Commercial Member Health Plans. Humana focuses on service members through employers and employees, Medicare, Medicaid, and military members with TRICARE coverage.


Physician-led integrated healthcare company USMD has opened three new cancer care and infusion centers in Dallas Fort-Worth. USMD is part of Optum, which is owned by UnitedHealth Group. Those clinics are are in Red Bird Square in Dallas, Clearfork in Fort Worth and South Arlington. Additionally, there are two more centers set to open this month, which will be in Cleburne and Las Colinas.


Steward Medical Group appointed Amy Guay to the role of President and Dr. Roger Mitty to Chief Physician Executive. SMG is Steward Health Care’s division of primary care physicians and multi-specialty providers. Guay was previously the Chief Financial Officer of the group and Mitty has 27 years of clinical experience with multiple leadership positions.


The Cary Council, Southwestern Medical Foundation, and UT Southwestern named several early-stage research grant recipients. Recipients were Dr. Emily H. Adhikari, Dr. Owoicho Adogwa, and Dr. Samuel John. Since 2017, the Care Council has awarded 12 grants that have helped researchers generate $7 million in additional funding.
