Nearly 40 percent of the state is vaccinated, but rates are slowing. Dallas City Hall is still closed, even as Plano and Fort Worth open.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 189 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, along with 3 deaths. 


Parkland Hospital will host several COVID-19 vaccination clinics across Dallas County this week, KERA reports. Vaccine clinics will be available at various locations in the city. People over the age of 12 can receive their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine without an appointment and schedule their second dose.


Nearly 40 percent of the state is vaccinated, Texas Tribune reports. But vaccination rates are slowing around the state, and there have been slight upticks in the number of hospitalizations and new cases over the past week.


Dallas’ City Hall remains closed to the public despite several other Texas cities opening up their locations, including municipalities in Plano and Fort Worth, Dallas Morning News reports. The safety protocols first put in place during the coronavirus pandemic limit public access to city hall and elected officials. Three weeks ago, Dallas City Council meetings began moving to a hybrid format, allowing some City Council members to attend agenda meetings in City Hall.
