County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 201 new cases and 17 deaths on Friday and Saturday. About 40 percent of Dallas County is fully vaccinated, he says.

The CDC says that fully vaccinated individuals no longer need to wear a mask or socially distance in indoor and outdoor settings, the Texas Tribune reports. Less than a third of Texas is fully vaccinated.

Pop-up clinics and other events to reach unvaccinated Texans where they are are part of the strategy of public health officials in DFW. Learn more about the efforts to reach the unvaccinated with the Dallas Morning News.

The state is reporting no new COVID-19 deaths on Sunday, WFAA reports. The numbers were the best in 13 months, though they may not be completely up to date because of potential weekend back logs.
