FDA approves Pfizer vaccine for ages 12-15. Dr. Fauci says masking may a wise choice to prevent seasonal illness.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 188 new COVID-19 cases from Sunday and Monday and 6 deaths.  


 The FDA has expanded Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine authorization for ages 12-15. The announcement from the Biden Administration says that around 15,000 pharmacy locations around the country will quickly be able to start administering vaccines to kids as young as 12. WFAA has more. 


Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious diseases expert, said mask-wearing could be seasonal to prevent common illness, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. This year’s flu season was virtually non-existent due to COVID prevention measures, with Fauci adding that people might decide to wear masks seasonally to prevent catching colds or the flu. 


Researchers from the University of London’s Center for the Study of the Senses have found that one-fifth of COVID-19 survivors experience a condition called parosmia. Parosmia, a distorted sense of smell that can be triggered by colds and sinus infections, is said to develop in those who’ve lost their sense of smell from COVID-19.
