Dallas County Judge Jenkins reported 322 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday and Monday and 9 deaths. “There is ample vaccine for everyone to get their shot and no reason to wait,” he tweeted.

A highly contagious variant of the coronavirus first seen in Brazil has made its way to Dallas researchers say. The variant, dubbed P.1 by scientists, is more resistant to antibodies including those from COVID-19 vaccines, meaning vaccines are less effective against it. The Dallas Morning News has more.

Texas officials give the green light on resuming Johnson & Johnson vaccine shots after confirmation from the CDC and FDA. The Texas Tribune reported that the recommendation came 11 days after use of that particular vaccine was paused over a small number of reports of a rare but serious clotting side effect in recipients.

The US will begin the process of sharing their entire AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines with the entire world. Where the doses will go has yet been finalized by the White House but an estimated 60 million doses will be expected to be available for export in the coming months. Read more from WFAA.
