Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 484 new COVID-19 cases and 17 deaths on Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s totals are reported with Monday’s numbers.


The more contagious Brazil variant of COVID-19 has been found in Dallas, the Dallas Morning News reports. Vaccines are also less effective against this variant, meaning social distancing and masking remains a priority.


The federal government has reported the first Texas patient experiencing blood clotting with symptoms to the other women whose clotting was caused by the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, says NBC 5.


Nearly one in four Texans have been vaccinated against COVID-19, the Texas Tribune reports, and use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine has started again, the Texas Tribune reports.
