Texas Health Allen's new athlete complex is now open, Medical City and JPS are recognized for maternal care, and more.

The Texas Health athlete complex in now open in Allen. The $12 million, 31,000 square foot facility is located on the Texas Health Allen campus and offers athletic performance training, testing, and fitness programs. It includes a turf field, a full-length outdoor soccer field, strength and conditioning equipment, and access to onsite orthopedic physicians and coaches.


Medical City Arlington has been recognized by Newsweek magazine’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2021 list. The hospital was the only hospital in the region to receive the distinction, and met high standards for safety and quality maternity care for newborns and women by The Leapfrog Group.


The Children’s Medical Center Research Institute at UT Southwestern published a study in Nature identified an environment in the bone marrow where immune cells are produced. It also found that movement and exercise help maintain this area, meaning exercise strengthens bone function.


JPS Health Network has been designated a Level IV institution for maternal care, the highest level possible. It has also been confirmed to be a Level III provider for neonatal care. Level IV maternal care means the hospital can handle the most complex surgical conditions, and Level III neonatal designation allows healthcare institutions to care for mothers in their 23rd week of pregnancy.


Caris Life Sciences has added Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health and Singapore-based Curie Oncology to the company’s Precision Oncology Alliance, a group of 49 cancer centers and institutions to advance comprehensive cancer profiling and advance molecular testing.
